I've had the distinct pleasure to be Mark Whitfield's guitar maker since his first order in 1999. Mark and I have now collaborated on 8 guitars together, each with its own voice and purpose. His primary guitar is his 16" Archtop that has accompanied him around the world and on session recordings since the beginning of 2000. The 16” Archtop was followed by the sexy emerald green Maple Neck-Through, then by the stunning transparent black Vintage Tremolo and finally by the sultry blue/black Maple Tremolo Neck-Through. Last year I had the pleasure of building and delivering to him an absolutely gorgeous Spanish Classical Guitar.

Most recently I built for Mark a uniquely constructed and voiced 15" Modern Model. This is a tremendous instrument that will change perceptions of what a smaller Archtop guitar can do acoustically as well as electrically. Mark’s guitar is voiced to deliver immediately to the audience or the microphone, while having in reserve a tremendously powerful and warm electric sound to support him at any level he chooses.
